Try Bushwalking Month

Try Bushwalking Month - November 2024

Try Bushwalking Month is a celebration of 90 years of Bushwalking Victoria.  Affiliated bushwalking clubs from across Victoria are opening their walks up to new participants, to showcase the incredible benefits of bushwalking with a club.  With 60+ walking events across Victoria during the month of November 2024, there's a walk for almost everyone.

Why bushwalk with a Club?

  • Discover new places you may not have had the confidence to navigate yourself, its a relief to know you won't get lost.
  • Learn from more experienced walkers, or give back by passing on your knowledge to others sharing your walk
  • Learn specialised outdoor skills, first aid training and advanced navigation, as well as extensive leadership training
  • Clubs provide safety and support in case of injury, weather, wildlife and personal security.
  • Clubs are a low cost way of getting outdoors on a regular basis.  With most club memberships under $50 for the year, bushwalking clubs are a great budget-friendly recreation activity
  • Most clubs have public liability and personal accident insurance, a great peace of mind in case something happens
  • Build your confidence, abilities and self-efficacy both on and off the tracks
  • Clubs offer the opportunity distribute loads across the group, particularly on day and multiday walks.  Some clubs even offer free or low-cost hire equipment to their members.
  • Clubs are a source of social connection, sharing amazing experiences in the outdoors, as well as other social activities, with others who appreciate it.
