Advocacy & Submissions
Bushwalking Victoria's advocacy efforts aim to proactively influence decisions that impact on bushwalking and bushwalkers in Victoria.
It achieves this by engaging with key decision makers and land managers such as Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) to ensure that bushwalking issues and opportunities are understood and considered when policies and decisions are made that impact on the bushwalking community in Victoria.
This work is primarily done through the active participation in the Bushwalking Advisory Committee a consultative advisory committee which Bushwalking Victoria, Parks Victoria and DELWP operate together as partners.
Bushwalking Victoria makes direct submissions to government. It also encourages its member clubs and supporters to actively respond to various submissions to government through the Engage Victoria on line consultation platform. www.engage.vic.gov.au
Engage Victoria is the place to discover and access Victorian government consultations, share ideas and have your say about what matters to you.
