Great Dividing Trail Association
The Great Dividing Trail is a pathway to central Victoria's hidden treasures from deep gorges and fern-lined rivers to the artefacts and cultural heritage of the greatest gold rush the world has ever seen.
Our mission is to work with land managers and other authorities to plan, develop and maintain a linked network of public walking tracks through public land in Central Victoria. Patron: John Landy, AC, MBE, former Olympian champion track athlete; Governor of Victoria 2001-2006. Track Ambassador: Steve Moneghetti, former Olympian and Commonwealth Games champion marathon athlete: Athletics Australia selector for 2012 London Olympics. The Great Dividing Trail Association is an incorporated, not-for-profit, community organisation. It was established in 1992 by a small group of volunteers who wanted to develop and promote walking tracks linking the great gold cities and townships of central Victoria. GDTA offers a Guided Walks Program to GDTA members and visitors.
