Overview
Starting and finishing at Lyonville, this walk includes a visit to Bullarto Reservoir.
The Walk in Detail
Walk commences at end of Tram Street Lyonville entering via four-wheel drive track crossing the Loddon River then Babbington Road following Bullarto Reservoir Road to the Reservoir for morning tea. Then pick up the Quartz Track following all the way to Osbourne Road. There are a few short sharp hills in this section, but the track is in reasonable condition considering the weather and vehicle traffic. Follow Osbourne Road until you turn right onto Kangaroo Creek Road and leave this to follow Spout Track all the way back to Babbington Road for about 1.5k to the entry back to Tram Street four-wheel drive track over the Loddon River. Some more short sharp hills in the second section as well.
Getting There
Turn Left (North) onto Falls Rd, and drive for 1.2 kms, then turn Left onto Trantham Falls Rd. Continue for 6.5 kms to Lyonville, then turn Right into Tram St. Park in the open grassed area near the intersection. Driving distance from Trentham: 8.2 kms
Walk Precautions
If this area has had a lot of rain, then the track can be very slippery and the four-wheel drive tracks are very rutted and full of water so be careful navigating around these parts. Poles recommended.
