About the Walk
Overview
A circuit walk on the Britannia Spur and the Mormon Tracks near Walhalla.
The Walk in Detail
Start at the Britannia Spur Track parking area on left off the Walhalla – Aberfeldy Road, 3km past the Walhalla township.
Walk down the steep Britannia Spur Track, and after crossing Britannia Creek climb up to the Mormon Town Track. Listen as you walk – you may hear a Bronzewing pigeon. When you reach the junction, look for the resident Flame Robin.
Turn right here and follow Mormon Town Track through patches of pink flowers with views of Mt Erica and the Thomson dam. Walk on until you are back on the Walhalla - Aberfeldy Rd. Turn right and walk towards Walhalla past Kelly's historic site – hard to imagine this was all cleared. Listen for the very talented Lyrebird in the area. Continue until the Cricket Ground Track Sign. Turn left up this track until you reach the Britannia Spur Track on your right. Walk down this to return to the starting point.
