About the Walk
Overview
Starting from Sheoak Picnic Area, walk up the lovely Sheoak valley to visit the Kalimna Falls, returning via the Garvey track to the starting point.
The Walk in Detail
Park cars at Sheoak Picnic Area and walk back up the road a short distance (about 5 minutes) to a signboard on the left hand side. Take the track to Upper and Lower Kalimna Falls (WT23). After crossing the Sheoak Creek turn right at the T-junction towards the Upper and Lower Kalimna Falls. At the next junction take the right hand track to the Lower Kalimna Falls. Return to the track junction and now turn right to take the track to the Upper Kalimna Falls. Continue past a sidetrack marked 'Sheoak Picnic Area 3.8' to the Upper Kalimna Falls.
Return to the previous track junction and take the right hand track marked 'Sheoak Picnic Area 3.8'. Follow the track that crosses Little Sheoak Creek to a T-junction at Garvey 2WD Track. Turn left towards 'Sheoak Picnic Area'. Continue on Garvey Track back to the Sheoak Picnic Area and the cars.
Getting There
From the Great Ocean Rd in Lorne turn into Otway St (Melways 518 F6), drive to the roundabout and follow signs for Allenvale and continue for 1.5km to the Sheoak Picnic Area.Walk Precautions
