About the Walk
Overview
The Nature Trail follows a circuit through gently rolling woodlands back to the picnic area. There are information boards along the walk explaining the natural history of the area. Can be combined with the Ironbark Gorge Walk (4.5km) follows a circuit through the gorge and back to the picnic area.
The Walk in Detail
To the right near the first parking area, take the track marked with both a WT6 and a WT7 sign. Very soon take the track to the left with the WT7 sign. Follow the track looking at the information signs. Cross the Ironbark Drive 4WD Track.
At the T-junction, ignore the signed Currawong Falls Track to the left but turn right on the Nature Trail marked WT6 and WT7. Follow the track beside Distillery Creek to cross the Ironbark Drive 4WD Track again and on to the start of the walk and the cars.
Option: Combine with Ironbark Gorge walk (4.5 km or about 1-1.5 hours) for a longer walk. Both walks start in the same place. See separate description of the Gorge walk
Getting There
Drive to Aireys Inlet and the junction with Bambra Rd. Turn right into Bambra Rd Drive for 2.4 km to where Bambra Rd takes a left turn while the road ahead becomes Distillery Creek Rd. Continue left on Bambra Rd for about 0.5km. Turn right into the Lower Distillery Creek Car Park and Picnic Area and park cars (Melways 611 C10).Walk Precautions
