The walk follows Wombat Creek and Sailors Creek from Lake Daylesford to Bryces Flat,  and return to Lake Daylesford. The undulating track narrows in places to single file and passes gold diggings, old huts and deep mine shafts through pleasant bushland with occasional schlerophyll forest. Mineral springs may be sampled en route.

Yarra Ranges National Park

A circular walk through beautiful and diverse forest starting on a 4WD track followed by an ascent up a very overgrown walking track then on undulating walking tracks with a moderate climb through snow gum forest. An easy descent on ski trails completes the circuit. Total climbing about 450m.  As at August 2012 the Upper Taggerty Road (Track) was closed.  It is strongly recommended that prospective walkers check the Parks Victoria website and/or contact the local ranger for current information before visiting this park.

A pleasant walk from the picnic ground to the 1880 reservoir and the quarry used to built the reservoir.  Follow a creek to the reservoir and then a stone water race en route to a lookout close to a pipe outlet (Ararat water supply).  The lookout gives good views to Ben Nevis and the Mt Buangor Range.

A 2 day walk that combines a walk in a wild and interesting area with an overnight bush camp in a mountainous park.  Includes a visit to an aboriginal art site. Walkers new to bush camping may wish to take on this walk as a means of gaining experience for longer distance trips and carrying a pack with all your overnight requirements. Low-impact camping with no toilet, washing or cooking facilities. Car shuffle required.

A varied walk through bushland in the Wombat Forest, the surrounds of the Bullarto Reservoir, and the hamlets of Bullarto and Leitches Creek Springs. Points of interest include a visit to Bullarto and its reservoir, Kangaroo Creek valley, the extinct volcano: Currys Hill and Leitches Creek Springs, where in 1900 a spring water bottling plant operated.

A pretty walk, mainly on old water races beside the upper reaches of the Lerderderg River to the site of the old Crown Dam. The return is along a slightly different route on the same side of the river. There are some great views of the river and nearby hills. There is time to admire the beautiful forest and lovely stonework on the races.
