Walk Description

This is a delightful short return walk in the eastern section of the Tyers Park. It takes in Petersons Lookout which is perched high above the Tyers River within the Tyers Gorge.
There are impressive views to the south towards the Latrobe Valley and north up the river valley. The conglomerate rock faces at the lookout are a feature of the walk. Peregrine falcons are known to nest near the lookout platforms and wildflowers feature year round. Some of the park was logged around 60 years ago as evidenced by an old timber mill site near the commencement of the walk.

Please note this walk is closed annually from 1 July to 15 December for fauna protection.

Getting There

From Moe, 130 km East of Melbourne on the Princes Highway, drive to Rawson 36.2 km amd 41minutes from Moe. Take the Moe-Walhalla Road C466, turn right onto Knotts Siding Road C481.
