The Walk in Detail

This is a beautiful walk, starting at Distillery Creek picnic area,  going up Ironbark Gorge high above the river, then returning via a lower track which crosses the river several times.

Walk north on the track through the picnic area until after a couple of minutes a track on the left with a sign 'Ironbark Gorge Track' is reached.  Turn left and follow the track as it follows the gorge upstream on the southwest side.  At the head of the gorge cross the bridge which has a 8WT track marker on it and follow the track down the gorge on the northeast side.

The return track crosses the creek bed several times on either a boardwalk or a bridge.  At the track junction ignore the track to the left signed to Currawong Falls and turn right to follow the track signed 'Picnic Ground 500m' with a 8WT track marker.  Return to the picnic ground and the cars.

Option:  Combine with Distillery Creek Nature Trail (1.5 km or about 30 mins) for a longer walk.  Both walks start in the same place. See separate description of the Nature Trail.
