Green Gully from Jack Cann Reserve Wombat State Forest

Walk Description

All on track. 325m change in elevation. River crossing.

Start: Jack Cann Reserve.

1. Walk initially south-west near the Easter Monday Tk along the ridge above the quarry, then follow the ridge west to the junction with Ottie Tk. There is a steep climb near the start, followed by a more moderate climb. Distance 2.5km.
   
   
2. Turn left onto Ottie Tk and walk south to the junction with Blackwood Ridge Tk. Turn right onto Blackwood Ridge Tk and walk west to the junction with Green Gully Tk, passing McLaughlins Lookout and a turn-off to Wheeler Tk on the way. Distance 1.5km.
   
   
3. Turn right onto Green Gully Tk. The first part of Green Gully Tk is eroded, rough and slippery and descends steeply. Walk north to the junction with Wheeler Tk. Continue north on Wheeler Tk to the junction with Lerderderg Rd. Distance 3.5km.
   
   
4. Cross Lerderderg Rd to the Lower Lerderderg Heritage River Wk. After a very short distance the Lower Lerderderg Heritage River Wk swings south-east. The Lower Lerderderg Heritage River Wk is initially a bush track and becomes a water race near the northern junction with the Ottie Tk. Continue to the walk end point. Distance 5km.
