This walk starts at Meikles Point picnic area, goes up to Quarry picnic area, and along the Centenary Track west to the junction of Werribee River and Myrniong Creek. Then a steep climb up to The Island Lookout. The return is along the Centenary Track and the Short Circuit Walk. All on formed tracks. Four steep ascents and descents. 230m change in elevation. Need to cross Myrniong Creek near Junction Pool. Walking poles are useful.
Start: Meikles Point picnic area.
1. Walk north on Werribee Gorge Circuit Walk to Quarry picnic area. Continue north-west, via park entrance and Hanson's Farm, to the junction with Centenary Track.
2. Turn right onto Centenary Track and walk north-west to Junction Pool. Cross Myrniong Creek and climb steeply on a track that may be overgrown in parts to The Island summit. Circuit The Island summit on a flat track, enjoying outstanding views.
3. Return to Junction Pool and continue south-east to the junction with Werribee Gorge Circuit Walk. Turn right onto Werribee Gorge Circuit Walk and continue south and then west to the junction with Short Circuit Walk, visiting Eastern View Point on the way. Turn left onto Short Circuit Walk and continue south-east to Meikles Point picnic area.
End: Meikles Point picnic area.

75 km From Melbourne on the Western Highway/Freeway (M8) past Bacchus Marsh and take the Myrniong exit. Turn left onto Pentland Hills Road for 1.4 km then right onto Myers Road, following this road for 3.7 km past Quarry car park to Meikles Point picnic area.
