GBC has a large group of mid-week walkers who meet on most Tuesdays for easy to moderate walks and Thursdays for moderate to hard walks. Popular areas to walk include the You Yangs, Brisbane Ranges, The Otways, and areas along the Surf Coast and the Great Ocean Road. Base camps in further afield locations are also popular with walkers staying in caravan parks or local accommodation for 4- 5 days, heading out each day on different walks. Some weekend walks and extended backpack walks are offered, usually of a harder grading.Â
