Fun, Friendship and Fitness in Nature

Joining a bushwalking club is a great way to meet new people, improve your fitness and have fun in the outdoors.  There are 60 Bushwalking Victoria Affiliate clubs spread across Victoria and most clubs welcome new members and visitors.

There are clubs of all sizes with many offering walks across Victoria, interstate and even overseas. Most clubs welcome people new to bushwalking and you are certain to find experienced members willing to pass on their knowledge to beginners. Some of our clubs conduct training specifically for people new to bushwalking.  Club membership is low cost, with most annual membership fees ranging from $35-$60.

Most clubs welcoming visitors along for a trial.  Contact the club to discuss your bushwalking experience and find out about the types of activities on their program.  Many clubs also offer other outdoor activities in addition to bushwalking, such as kayaking and cycling, and other social activities.

We are a small friendly club and we enjoy the pleasure of sharing our common interests in the bush, having fun and keeping fit. We offer great Sunday walks and aim at a minimum of two weekends away and several social gatherings throughout the year.

Details

Bunarong Bushwalking Club is a friendly club based on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria for over 24 years. We share a passion for walking through all of Victoria's natural splendour from high Alpine mountain peaks to wild ocean beaches, trees fern-covered eucalyptus forests and breathtaking waterfalls on bold craggy tracks. Have a look at our walks program here. We preview, choose and select our walks to suit the differing capabilities and preferences of our members, ranging from pleasant social get-togethers, leisurely strolls, to more challenging walks that are more physically challenging but are always achievable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. Our club provides walks for members to enjoy on Sundays and Wednesdays throughout most of the year. The club organises special event walking weekends away at least twice every year and members have organised many overseas walking adventures in Europe and the South Pacific. We have developed a friendly social atmosphere where everyone feels welcome to join on our walks with light-hearted conversation along the trail and afternoon coffee at the end of a pleasant day out. Club meetings are held every two months at: Frankston Pines Football Club, 12 Monterey Boulevard, Frankston North
