Fun, Friendship and Fitness in Nature
Joining a bushwalking club is a great way to meet new people, improve your fitness and have fun in the outdoors. There are 60 Bushwalking Victoria Affiliate clubs spread across Victoria and most clubs welcome new members and visitors.
There are clubs of all sizes with many offering walks across Victoria, interstate and even overseas. Most clubs welcome people new to bushwalking and you are certain to find experienced members willing to pass on their knowledge to beginners. Some of our clubs conduct training specifically for people new to bushwalking. Club membership is low cost, with most annual membership fees ranging from $35-$60.
Most clubs welcoming visitors along for a trial. Contact the club to discuss your bushwalking experience and find out about the types of activities on their program.  Many clubs also offer other outdoor activities in addition to bushwalking, such as kayaking and cycling, and other social activities.
Bendigo Bushwalking & Outdoor Club Inc
Introduction
Go Bush with the Bendigo Bushwalking and Outdoor Club. The club is based in Bendigo and conducts a range of non-competitive outdoor activities throughout Victoria's diverse environments, with some interstate and overseas trips as well.
Details
The club was formed in early 2008 with the merging of two long-standing clubs from the Bendigo area, the Bendigo Bushwalkers and the Bendigo Outdoor Club. The combined resources and strengths of both clubs are now enjoyed by the members of the Bendigo Bushwalking and Outdoor Club. Our members come from all walks of life with interests ranging from easy strolls to demanding wilderness trips. Activities include day walks, overnight and extended bushwalks, base-camping with day walks, canoeing, kayaking and rafting, mountain-bike riding and cross-country skiing. Members come together at informal monthly meetings to socialise, receive the newsletter, talk to leaders, get information about forthcoming trips and to chat about recent trips. Visitors are welcome to come along to a meeting to meet people and see what's coming up.
