Mt Blackwood - Lohs Lane

Lerderderg State Park

This walk includes some of the delights of Lerderderg, but with none of the steep climbs. Highlights are the extensive views to Melbourne, the You Yangs, surrounding farmland and into the gorge from Mt Blackwood; old growth manna gums; wildflowers; and picturesque old farm buildings/equipment.  Bring your camera.

Mt Hotham Huts Walk

Alpine National Park

The Huts Walk links three of Hotham's significant historic huts, each which represent an important role which led to the development of Hotham Alpine Resort. These iconic huts include Spargo's (gold mining), Derrick Hut (ski touring), and Silver Brumby Hut (representative of cattle grazing and as used in the film Silver Brumby). Walk involves some steep climbs and descents.

Ricketts Point

Spectacular cliff top views of beaches stretching across Port Phillip Bay to Arthur's Seat in one direction and of the City skyline the other way.  Early Heidelberg artists' views of the area are preserved on the information boards along the track by displaying their paintings next to the area they depicted. Arthurs Seat State Park

The Twins

Alpine National Park

This is an excellent walk near Mt St Bernard which is about 10 km on the Bright side of Mt Hotham. The views from the top are spectacular.  Total height gain of 400m.  The Mt Hotham area was affected by bushfires in February 2013 and it is essential that you visit the Parks Victoria website prior to visiting the area.

Visit Wallace and Cope Huts as part of a walk through alpine meadows with views across the National Park at several places.  An easy walk with a lot of history.
