Alpine Search & Rescue

Alpine Search and Rescue Victoria (alpineSAR) is an experienced group of back-country skiers, mountaineers and bushwalkers skilled in search and rescue who are called out to look for lost persons in alpine and bush areas as members of Bush Search and Rescue Victoria, by Victoria Police.

Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club Inc

The Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club was formed in September 1977, in Mount Beauty Victoria, when a small group of enthusiasts met at the home of Paul and Helen L’Huillier to discuss the idea. It is a small but very active and progressive north-eastern Victorian based club located in Mount Beauty, 350km from Melbourne. Since 1977 it has conducted many activities and programs for its members and other cross country skiers centred on the Falls Creek Ski Resort, Alpine National Park and the Bogong High Plains.

La Trobe University Mountaineering Club

Membership of the La Trobe University Mountaineering Club (LUMC) is open to anyone who supports the purposes of the club (see below), though the majority of members are either students, staff or alumni of the university. A limited number of memberships are available for non-university affiliated people as the club is required to retain a high % of members which are university community - Priority for non-university affiliated people will be those who contribute substantially to the club

The annual membership fee for LaTrobe Students is $30 a year which is valid for the full membership year 1 Feb 2018- 31 Jan 2019. A slightly discounted pro-rata membership is available and will be available online from July.

If you apply for membership and are not yet 18, your membership application will be placed on hold until you turn 18. Unfortunately you cannot attend club events whilst your membership application is on hold.

The key feature of joining LUMC is participating in the activity of your interest. Such participation is normally on a club trip, sometimes these are single day trips, a week, even month long club trips occur occasionally. Enthusiastic members are encouraged to ask questions and gain the necessary skills to run their own trips.

Becoming a member of LUMC also means you are covered under La Trobe University's Sports Centre's accident insurance, on all club trips.

We are one of Australia's most accomplished outdoor sports clubs. Monash Bushwalking & Outdoors club is one of Victoria’s biggest outdoors clubs offering all sorts of adventures in the great outdoors! Most of their events depart from Monash University Clayton. Membership is open to all members of the public.

RMIT Outdoors Club

The Outdoors Club was formed in 1993 as a result of the amalgamation of the existing bushwalking and rock-climbing clubs. In 1999 it was disunited back into the two clubs!

In 2002 we rejoined as one club again, changed our name to the RMIT Outdoors Club and now we’re better than ever!

Scout Bushwalkers

Scout Bushwalkers meet monthly. The aim is to develop Leader knowledge and to provide walks for Leaders to develop their skills.

Victorian National Parks Association (VNPA)

The Victorian National Parks Association has been at the forefront of nature conservation campaigns for more than 65 years, with outstanding results.

They ran theirfirst excursion in 1954 (to Wilsons Promontory National Park) and today have an extensive program of up to 200 bushwalking and activities each year, the largest of any bushwalking group in Victoria. The East Gippsland Forest Camp held every Easter is one such activity that brings people closer to nature and increases their appreciation and support for conservation.

Victorian Rogaining Association

Rogaining is a sport for 2-99 year olds who enjoy the challenge of being outdoors. Whether you want to run, walk, picnic or simply camp at one of our overnight events, Victorian Rogaining Associaiton would love to see you.

YHA Bushwalking Club

The YHA Bushwalking club has been in existence since 1939 and is a foundation member of the Federation of Victorian Bushwalking Clubs (Bushwalking Victoria). The club is made up of a healthy bunch of people who enjoy getting out into the bush to walk with a sociable group of like minded people. To cater for all  members they run a wide range of bushwalks including relaxing Social Walks, Day Walks and Weekend overnight trips which can be Accommodated, Base-Camps or Pack-Carry Walks. As you can see YHA is very versatile, with something for everyone no matter what your fitness level or interest in bushwalking. 

The club is based in Melbourne, Australia, and is one of a number of local activity groups affiliated with YHA Australia.
