About the Walk
Overview
Wonderful views from the Pinnacle over Halls Gap and the Fyans Creek Valley. This walk is similar to Walk16, but takes an alternative track from the Wonderland car park to the Pinnacle, through an area known as the Garden of the Grampians. It is a little longer with less rock scrambling.
The Walk in Detail
The walk starts at Halls Gap and follows along Stony creek towards the Wonderland car park, passing Venus Baths. Â Take a brief side trip for a rest stop at Splitters Falls.
Return to the GPT and continue towards Wonderland Carpark. This section is steep and some rock hopping over creeks may be needed (the stones are well placed). There is some limited rock scrambling here. The section through the Grand Canyon is spectacular – no need to rush! There are multiple rock formations on the way, and the view opens up as you ascend. Take the left fork at GNP010 towards the Grand Canyon with its metal stairs. Continue the ascent on the track passing Cool Chamber.
You reach a track junction (GNP012) with a sign indicating optional routes to the Pinnacle. Take the longer option to the right, avoiding Silent Street, into part of the area known as the Garden of the Grampians. This starts off with steps, then turns into a wide track through a forest. Turn left at the next intersection (GNP013). Another 1km to rejoin the GPT and turn left for a short climb to the top.
After enjoying the views, we descend (475m) towards Halls Gap (3.8kms) on a track that does involve lots of steps.

Getting There
Walk starts and ends at the Halls Gap and Grampians Visitor Information Centre, 117 Grampians Road, Halls Gap.
Walk Precautions
Steep climb down to Halls Gap from the Pinnacle lookout involving many steel and rock steps. If you use walking poles, bring them. There are also metal stairs with rails in the Grand Canyon.
