About the Walk
Overview
A gentle walk alongside the picturesque MacKenzie River, viewing the two best all-season waterfalls in the park.
The Walk in Detail
Beginning at Zumsteins picnic ground, we take the signposted track upstream heading towards MacKenzie Falls. The slightly undulating well-formed track follows the MacKenzie River which has a permanent water flow. After 2.4km we reach the multi layered cascades that is Fish Falls. After taking in Fish Falls the track becomes slightly steeper as we enter the gorge of the Mackenzie Falls and after 1.3km we reach the base of Mackenzie Falls. Here, if we can find some space, we can have lunch. There is an option to climb the 260 stairs to the viewing platforms at the top of the falls before retracing our steps back to Zumsteins.

Drive 22 km on Mt Victory Rd to Zumsteins Picnic Area

Occasional uneven paths, cliff edges beside track, slippery stone steps, some rock hopping and slippery surfaces near Fish Falls
