About the Walk
Overview
The easiest climb possible in the Grampians to see stunning views. Traverse the ridge with creeks on either side and see the magnificent ‘Wall’ in the distance. Be in awe of the rock formations and watch for the wallabies grazing on the kangaroo lawns.
The Walk in Detail
The walk starts at Troopers Creek Campground where toilet facilities are available. Follow the main track out of the campground. As you reach the first creek follow the track off to the right. At the second viewing of the creek take the stepping stones over the creek and follow the track though the bushland.Â
After about 1km you will reach the trail head for the Grampians Peak Trail (for others heading up to Mt Difficult). Cross Mt Zero road here and look for the track heading into the bush again. Quickly you will cross Troopers Creek and the small climb begins. The track evens out and becomes a rock-strewn path. Take time to stop for the views.Â
Continue along the ridge line. There are many chances to stop and take photos. Make the most of them. Eventually you will start a small descent off the ridge line and walk through open bushland and kangaroo paddocks. Â
Cross the bridge and follow the track. You will see a gate to the right (private property). Do not go there. Turn left and about 100m up the rise is Barigar Campground. Enjoy the luxurious shelter and the lookout before returning the same way.

Getting There
Head north from the Hub. Follow Mt Zero Rd for 21km, then left onto Roses Gap Rd for 4km to Troopers Creek Campground (on your left about 100m past the Troopers Creek trailhead).
