About the Walk
Overview
Explore different environments in search of photo opportunities, without the pressure of keeping up with those intent only on walking. While the leader will set time limits for each area, you can wander at leisure to frame the best view.
The Walk in Detail
Depending on weather conditions and group preferences, the leader will select up to 4 walking tracks ranging in distance from 1 to 3km, from the following:
- Mt Zero, 2.8km return
- Flat Rock Viewpoint, 1km return
- Gulgurn Manja Shelter, 1.5km return
- Â Golton Gorge, 0.8km return
- Heatherlie Quarry Heritage Site, 2.4km circuit
All tracks are well signposted. Photographers can roam within a chosen area, but all participants are expected to remain within sight of the leader at all times.
Getting There
Drive 36km from Hub to Mt Zero Picnic Area. Possible stops on the return drive at Hollow Mountain Carpark, Golton Gorge Picnic Area, and Heatherlie Quarry Carpark, before returning to the Hub in Halls Gap.
Walk Precautions
Some uneven stone steps and sloping rock surfaces. Beware of going too close to steep drops when looking for the perfect shot
