About the Walk

Overview

This walk has views attractive farmlands, a small country village, vineyards, cherry farms, a pottery, country restaurants and views over Port Phillip Bay.

The Walk in Detail

Starting at the Consolidated School, walk south along Mornington-Flinders road to Stoney Creek (1).

Turn left (East) follow this road passing Stoney Creek (2) and then on Beaulieu Road (3).  Cross Shoreham road through a small reserve, turn left (North East) on Baynes Road and walk to Red Hill Centrepoint Shops (4).  At the back of the hardware shop you will find evidence of the old rail station and line reserve that joined to Frankston – Stoney Point rail line.

Cross Red Hill Road and walk along Station road through a bushland surburb (5), to its end then turn left (north) into Donaldsons road and follow to its end (6).  Go across farmland north to McIlroys Road (7). Turn left (west) and walk to Bowrings road then turn right (north) to Bald Hill Flora Reserve (8).  Walk through the reserve and from its western end cross farmland to White Hall Road (9) then turn left (south) for about 1 km till you reach a Pottery on the left side of the road.

Just past this pottery is a walking track to Arkwells Lane (10) and follow to Arthurs Seat Road (11) beside the Red Hill Football Grounds.  Turn right (west) and walk along the south side of Arthurs Seat Road to the Red Hill Consolidated School and the car park.

Getting There

This walk starts and ends at the Red Hill Consolidated School.  Melways 160 E3. Drive to Dromana.  At McCulloch Street turn right at the Police station, go along McCulloch st under the freeway, turn right and follow Arthurs Seat Rd to the top of Arthurs Seat then continue further along until you reach the School at Mornington Flinders Road.
