About the Walk

The walk starts alongside picturesque Main Creek, then undulates through open forest, lush tree-fern
gullies and vast areas cloaked in grass trees. Approaching the coast, banksias and tea trees form an
avenue along the track, and there are wonderful cliff top views as you approach Cape Schanck.

The Walk in Detail

Cross Baldrys Rd and follow the foot track south next to Main Creek, ignoring tracks off to the right. After 1.3km, you join the Two Bays Walking Track, which comes in on your right; it's marked with the Blue Wren track symbol. Continue southwards, crossing two management tracks. Have morning tea when you reach the Lightwood Creek campsite (toilets), which is 4.8km from the start.

Continue south, crossing three 4WD management tracks along the way, as you follow the well-marked Two Bays track. Kangaroos are frequently seen in grassy areas as you approach Boneo Rd. Cross and continue southwards for 2.5km to the Bushrangers Bay junction; turn left and descend the steps to have lunch on the beach.

After lunch, retrace your steps back up to the well-signed junction, then take the left fork and follow the track westwards. There are panoramic views of Pulpit Rock and Bass Strait as you approach the end of the walk at Cape Schanck.
