Changes to the Packhorse Track

Getting There

Melways:  178 C6

Travel north on CityLink and take turn off to Melbourne Airport.  To reach the Somerton entrance take the Mickleham off ramp and turn right (north) to follow Micklehamn Rd until you reach Somerton Rd.  Then turn left into Somerton Rd and in due course left again into the Park.  Alternatively stay on the freeway going past the airport where the freeway becomes Sunbury Rd. Turn right into Oaklands Rd and later right again into Somerton Rd.

Opening Hours: Opens at 8:30am, closes at 5:00pm in winter; 6:00pm in spring and 8:00pm during daylight savings. The car park at the Governor Rd entrance closes at 4pm.

Car parking:  There is car parking at the Somerton Rd Entrance in a dirt car park.

Public transport:  Unavailable

Dogs: Are permitted in some areas but must be kept on a leash.

Parks Victoria:  Woodlands Historic Park

The Woodlands Homestead has a kiosk and restuarant.

Facilities:  There are many picnic tables close to the car park and toilets located at the Somerton Rd entrance. There are no drinking fountains around the park. Rubbish bins are not provided, please take all rubbish with you.
