Getting There

Travel to Falls Creek on the Hume Highway to Wangaratta.  From Wangaratta take the Great Alpine Rd (route B500) to Myrtleford, Bright, Mount Beauty and then Falls Creek village.

The walking track to Roper Lookout commences several kilometres past Falls Creek along the Bogong High Plains Road.  Cross over the Rocky Valley dam wall and park your car near the information board on the other side (eastern end) of the dam wall.

Bogong High Plains Road is closed during the winter season from Rocky Valley to Trapyard Gap in the Alpine National Park.  Some roads and campsites in this park are subject to seasonal closures - Refer to the Alpine National Park website for details
