Replacement of Toilet Block - Ritchie's Hut
Parks Victoria are currently in the process of replacing the existing toilet at Ritchie's hut.

The works are scheduled between February and April 2017.

There may be no toilet available for use between this period as the old toilet will be decommissioned. Please ensure you walk at least 100 metres from the river or any water way, dig a hole and bury your waste and toilet paper very carefully.

Getting There

Melway reference:  Map 28 D8.

Car parking:  Free parking is available in Pipemakers Park.  Enter from the Warrs Road roundabout on Van Ness Ave at the rear of Highpoint Shopping Centre.

Public transport:  Take tram 82 from Footscray or Moonee Ponds or tram 57 from the city to the corner of Gordon and River Streets Maribyrnong.  Walk along Gordon St towards Highpoint and enter Pipemakers Park from the Warrs Road roundabout. The walks can also be commenced from the Maribyrnong Road/Raleigh Road bridge over the Maribyrnong River

Dogs:  Dogs are allowed on leash only, except for off-leash areas as described below.

Facilities:  There is a good level of shade and reasonable wind protection.  There are bench seats, tables, drinking fountains and toilets along the trail. Barbecues and playgrounds are located at Riverside Park and Coulson Gardens.
