Getting There

Travel to Falls Creek on the Hume Highway to Wangaratta.  From Wangaratta take the Great Alpine Rd (route B500) to Myrtleford, Bright, Mount Beauty and then Falls Creek village.

From Falls Creek Village continue by car on the Bogong High Plains Road to the Pretty Valley Road. Turn right up the Pretty Valley Road. Keep right at the turn off to Ruined Castle and then keep left on the road past Mt McKay.

Turn right when the road from Ruined Castle rejoins the road and descend into Pretty Valley. Park the cars at the pondage.

The bushwalking season in alpine areas is usually from November to May but can vary according to weather conditions.
