This walk is called Hobbit Land as this was the name given to this small and unique parcel of land on the Baw Baw Plateau that escaped the bush fires of 1939 that burnt most of the vegetation on the plateau at that time. Marble Quarry

Follow a jeep track into history to investigate an old marble quarry overlooking the Thompson River.  Marble from the quarry was used in the William Bailey Mansion in Ballarat and also Rupertswood Homestead in Sunbury.
