This is delightful walk along the Morses Creek valley which has been classified by the National Trust for its landscape significance. It includes the beautiful historic mining village of Wandiligong. Level walking.

Cherry Walk

This is a delightful amble along the Ovens River virtually in the town of Bright. The name of the walk comes from the Cherry family which lost six children to diphtheria in an epidemic in 1871.

Cobungra Ditch Walking Track, Mt Hotham

A journey to discover why and how this water race was constructed in 1883-84. This is not just an ordinary water race, this was an engineering wonder that had to be surveyed and cut through one of the harshest and rugged landscapes in Australia.  There are a number of information boards along the walk.  Involves a descent at the beginning and a steady ascent at the end with walk along the ditch being mostly level with good views of the mountains.

Dibbins Hut Circuit

Alpine National Park

This is a hard, long walk beginning high up with good views and descending to the Cobungra River and Dibbins Hut, which is set in a beautiful flat by the river. The return route goes past the Red Robin Mine. Involves a 650m height gain (and descent).  Alternatively complete the walk as a 2 day backpack (Medium to Hard depending on fitness).  It is essential that you check the Parks Victoria website prior to visiting this area.

Dickson's Falls

This walk starts on the east side of the road opposite Cresta Valley ski area. Subalpine plant communities and masses of wildflowers are a highlight in late summer.

This is a short but delightful nature walk along Dickson's Creek to the falls where there is a spectacular view over Buckland Valley. 60m climb and descent. Retrace route to the start of the walk.

Eagle Point via Og, Gog and Magog

The walk to Eagle Point is gently undulating, and clearly sign-posted.  It has some good viewing points of the Buffalo Plateau - in particular from Eagle Point. It passes through snow-gum and alpine ash forests, rocky areas and snow-grass plains.  Total climb of 200m.

Heathy Spur to Mt Nelse

Alpine National Park

Starting from Bogong High Plains Tourist Road follow Heathy Spur footpath up a gentle ascent through varied vegetation with lovely flowers until it joins the main Australian Alps Walking Track (AAWT). Follow the AAWT until the turnoff to the cairn at the summit of Mt Nelse.  Great views.

Marum Point Circuit

Alpine National Park

This easy walk is a good introduction to the apline area and high plains.  The walk is on fire trails and beside one of the aqueducts that feed water into Rocky Valley Dam.  Excellent views, interesting vegetation and flowers in spring and early summer.

Mollison's Galleries

Mount Buffalo National Park

At 18 km the walk to Mollison's Galleries is one of the longest on the Buffalo Plateau, but it is well worth doing. Mollison's Galleries are actually a series of huge boulders that overlook the Buffalo Valley and Lake Buffalo a long way below. The walk involves a 300m climb (and descent).
